At Macon Music Academy, we offer both half hour and hour long lessons.


The half-hour lesson is the most popular choice for all skill levels. This half hour lesson gives the student the chance to learn without becoming overwhelmed. Highly recommended for especially for novice and beginner level players.


With a full-hour lesson, we'll get a chance to dive deeper into musical concepts and variations behind the kit.


We also offer hour-long group lessons for three or more students.

MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS

Tim Macon, Drum Instructor

Timothy Macon is a Fort Worth ,TX native. His passion for all things music and drums came through the avenue of church.


Becoming serious about his love of music in high school, he further studied music theory at Tarrant County College with Rick Stitzel and futher his  studies with famed drum intructor and performer Rich Stitzel.


Since becoming a full time musician, Tim has had a #1 Texas Country Hit and three other Texas Country Music Chart top 10 songs, performed in the DFW area with Maren Morris, toured The Voice star Holly Tucker, The Voice star Luke Wade, American Idol/ Country music star Casey James, Josh Weathers, Jordan Rainer, Santana vocalist Leon Patillo, and many others.


Tim's love of music and the message it can bring is channeled in the way he teaches his students.  Coaching students not only in how to play the drums, but how to observe the magic of the music  they perform.


He’s currently a member and on tour with the Ray Johnston Band and bassist De'Marcus Walker.

Hi! My name is Bates Pulliam, and I'm a guitar and piano teacher at the Macon Music Academy!


I'm 18 years old and love to teach all genres of music.


I specialize in theory and love to teach the inner workings of music.

Logan Marks, Guitar Instructor

Logan Marks is a talented musician with a passion for jazz and metal. He comes from a long line of jazz musicians, going back three generations.


Logan has been a guitarist for ten years, performing with big bands and live groups.


What sets Logan apart is his love for both jazz and metal music, which he blends into a unique and captivating sound.


Not only is he a fantastic performer, but he's also a dedicated teacher, sharing his musical knowledge with students for the past year and a half.

Kyle Kersey Fort Worth Guitar teacher

Kyle Kersey, Guitar Instructor

A multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, tutor, linguaphile and smitten dog owner, Kyle Kersey is a Virginian-born, Texas-raised ramblin’ shake who has spent the majority of his life attempting to express himself with a 4-string bass guitar. As a teacher of all age groups, he is devoted to helping students understand and nurture their own creative potential.


Picking up the bass at age 14, he played in his local church band and was awarded the $10,000 Rock Workshop scholarship from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA at age 16. He went on to complete undergraduate studies at both Berklee and University of North Texas, receiving his B.A. in Psychology with a minor in music from the latter in 2015. 


Since returning to Texas in 2021, he has been active playing various styles of music such as pop, country, rock and gospel/rnb. He endorses Vintage Guitars and DR Strings. He


Kyle is a generous and friendly teacher. He is delighted to design a lesson plan for each student that will foster proficiency, confidence, and a playful understanding of music. Each student has their own unique talent and inclinations. Kyle passionately respects this and seeks to provide the most relevant, motivating and frustration-free instruction to each and every student. Assignments and expectations are always clear and encouraging.


Kyle teaches bass and acoustic guitar as well as theory and ear training. He lives in Bedford, TX.

Philip Walker Fort Worth piano teacher

Philip Walker, Piano Instructor

Philip is a very professional and friendly piano teacher. In addition to sight reading and finger positioning, Philip will teach you how to listen for segments of recorded music to identify the parts you want to play.


Philip Walker is a Dallas native. He started playing the piano when he was 10 years old. He has studied both formally and informally with various musicians.


Currently Philip serves as keyboardist and backup vocalist for a Blake Shelton tribute band. He has served the DFW faith community as a church music director for more than 25 years.

Dale Bronson, Audio Production

Dale Bronson is a highly accomplished sound engineer and an esteemed instructor with an extensive background in various audio settings with many years of hands-on experience in touring, church, club, and festival environments.

Recognizing the importance of sharing his expertise, Dale has embraced his role as an instructor and coach. Drawing upon his extensive knowledge, Dale’s teaching methodology is founded on a practical, hands-on approach, ensuring that his students gain valuable experience through real-world scenarios and simulated environments. His guidance covers a wide range of topics, including audio system setup, signal processing, microphone techniques, mixing fundamentals, and troubleshooting common issues.

Whether you are a novice embarking on your sound engineering journey or a seasoned professional seeking to refine your craft, Dale Bronson’s instruction will undoubtedly provide you with the expertise and insights needed to excel in sound reinforcement for any occasion.

TUITION POLICIES

One of our goals is to respect the time of the teachers and you the student. These guidelines are in place to ensure the health of the business. 


We have limited available slots, and we want to honor the time you have dedicated to your musical journey.
 
Billing Information:


 *MONTH-TO MONTH LESSONS: Our desire is to inspire our students with the love of music. We do this through teachers and music that our students love unlike other programs, we do not require smester minimums for lessons. We setup payment  for the first of the month. You can begin at anytime. To stop lessons, we just need a 30 day notice. (Please notify us IN WRITING 30 days prior to tmacon@maconmediallc.com​. )

Canceling/Rescheduling Lessons:

Rescheduling is likely to happen, whether the teacher calls and needs to move the lesson or the student needs to move the lesson. We allow for rescheduling of the lesson within the calendar month.


If we are unable to perform a lesson due to unforeseen events such as power outage, sickness, or bad weather, we will credit the lesson. However, we do not refund unattended lessons. 


​*Bad weather days are done as make-ups on another scheduled day or if necessary a Saturday will be used for make-ups.


*We do not credit lessons that are missed by client vacations (please communicate with your instructor to reschedule your lessons in advance) 


* All Sales are final on all lessons and packages. We do not do refunds.
